Wasson’s free kids’ events and workshops are designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love for nature and the outdoors. Through hands-on activities like planting seeds, creating nature-based crafts, and learning about pollinators, children explore the natural world in fun, engaging, and educational ways. - NO registration required for Kids’ Free Events (yes, we did initially require registration for the FREE events, but this policy has changed as of 6/1/2026.)

By attending Wasson events, attendees grant permission for Wasson to photograph and/or video all attendees for marketing, social media, and promotional purposes only. These materials may be used in print, online, or other media, and attendees waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product. If you plan to attend and prefer not to be photographed or recorded, simply notify a Wasson staff member upon arrival.
FLOWER POT WINDCHIME

In this FREE hands-on workshop, kids will decorate their very own flower pot and transform it into a charming windchime to take home and enjoy. Using colorful acrylic pens to create unique designs, each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind creation that adds personality and sound to your outdoor space. Our team will guide children step by step, making it easy and fun for all ages. It’s the perfect way to spark creativity, build confidence, and create something meaningful together.

BEADED PLANT
LOCATION: 13279 E. 126th St., Fishers

Join us at Wasson Garden Center in Fishers for our Free Kids’ Beaded Plant Workshop. Children will create their own colorful beaded plant in a small decorative pot, a fun keepsake to brighten their room or desk.
This hands-on workshop encourages creativity while introducing kids to nature-inspired design in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Due to the use of very small beads and materials that may present a choking hazard, this event is recommended for children ages 6–13.

TRICK OR TREAT

Put on your favorite costume and join us for a free, fun-filled day of Halloween festivities at Wasson! Bring the whole family and enjoy a festive afternoon packed with activities, treats, and plenty of Halloween spirit.
Visit participating stations throughout the garden center to collect treats and surprises along the way.
Costume Contest
Show off your best Halloween look for a chance to win a Halloween Gift Basket! Throughout the day, Wasson team members will vote for their favorite costumes. If you’re selected as a staff favorite, we’ll ask for your name and phone number to enter you into the final drawing. The winner will be chosen at 3:00 PM and notified after the event.

Pumpkin Painting

KIDS’ SPOOKY PLANT WORKSHOP

KIDS’ LEAF ART BANNER WORKSHOP

Celebrate the beauty of fall at Wasson Garden Center in Fishers! Kids will create their own colorful fall banner to take home, perfect for decorating your home through Thanksgiving.
While they create, we’ll discover the science behind autumn by learning why leaves change color and fall from the trees each year. We’ll provide all the supplies, step-by-step guidance, and plenty of creative fun, so every child leaves with a handmade keepsake and an appreciation for the season.
